Why is it that all of the men in this play are very weak in comparison with the women? Even when it came to the Chorus of Men and the Chorus of Women. The Chorus of Women had seized Akropolis from the Chorus of Men. The women are constantly manipulating the men on all levels. Even Lysistrata is able to sway the Commissioner to come to a consensus with her pertaining to the future of Athens.

i def agree Nehemiah, like all the guys in the play are manipulated in some way shape or form but i think it's to get the idea of the theme out. the power of a woman.... seems easier to convey when the guys seem like whimps, well, at least i think it would be.

I agree also. The men are very well manipulated and are in fact controlled in a sense..some what like Ibsen's play

I have to agree also because the women are in control of the men which make them seem weak. The men are desperate and will do anything which makes them very manipulative and when you are manipulative you appear weak.

I think the men were so weak to the women because they weren't the starters of the oath. Because the men were away at war, and that they had desires upon return and they returned to nothing but angry protesting wives, the men had no choice but to bow down to the women's will. Because the women were able to use the men's thoughts and the women's society role against the men, the men were forced to give in. It's all in the power of a woman. Never underestimate it.
