Honestly, what else could have possibly worked in order to keep the men away from war? Nothing at all if you ask me. The men don't care about anything except for their own pleasures. Sex is the most pleasurable way to satisfy someone. I know the guy's mindset was as long as they had sex, they were good, and the women, or Lysistrata for that matter, had to have figured this out, thus, resulting in the oath that was created.

This is true because remaining abstinent is the only way the women had some power over the men. Other than that there is nothing the women could have did because the men were basically driven by sex.

On the contrary, there are thousands of more pleasureable ways to satisfy someone other than sex. The guys mindsets were probably as long as they had sex they were good, you're right. However, I feel that the women, Lysistrata specifically, used sex as their way of protesting because that the one power they held over the men. I don't think it was because the men wanted it really bad. I think it was because men viewed women as sexual objects, and to an extent so did the women, so they took their objects away.
